Food History and Community
Food is necessary for Survival. Clean Water is required for survival. Every being eats. Every being has the right to eat, as it is not a privilege. We still live in a world where there is Food Insecurity. At least that's what it's called now, as opposed to famine or poverty or hunger. It means some do not know when their next meal will be.
Take a Lesson in History
During the Depression era, started by a poor President, and a Stock market crash that crippled humanity. However, in times of need, times of hunger, poverty, people are determined to feed their families, and use what they had on hand, in the yard, in the forest, or the small wages they lived on.
WWII
Though "the Great Depression" ended when the US entered WWII, men went to war, women went to work, and the government gave out supplemental food, such as cheese and peanut butter, and ration coupons.
Today
In today's world, grocery prices are rising. We are in an Inflation. Some persons living from paycheck to paycheck have to decide between rent or food. SNAP benefits aren't enough to cover the full month's food. Food Pantries and food banks are over extended.

If you've ever received a bag or box of food from a food bank or a food pantry, sometimes you can pick the food you want, and other times you have to take what you can get. Sometimes you may not know what to do with those ingredients.
