Now available Amy Shannon's Balls-Town
From Reviews to Literary News. From His-Story to Her-Story. Built to educate, promote, and inform authors.
Your support and contributions will allow the magazine to keep running, and offer more information to authors and other literary professionals. (And in some occasions, buy me a cup of coffee or a nice bottle of wine).
Literate-Ly Magazine is a bi-monthly literary magazine.
The current issue is always located at https://essenceenterpriseus.com/literate-ly-current-issue
The issues run as follow:
January to February
March to April
May to June
July to August
September to October
November to December
The purpose of Literate-Ly Magazine is to recognize authors and their work, expose new reads for readers, allow authors and literary professionals share their work and experience, and to educate authors of all levels and experience. All contributors get a free full page of Advertising Space for one year (Contributors are Author Spotlight, Author Interviews, Short Stories, or Articles). Any reviews or book information that are included in the magazine, do not count for contribution, as they are randomly selected to be in the magazine.
The mission of Literate-Ly Magazine is to educate, entertain, inform and promote authors and other literary professionals.
Amy will contact authors who want to be in the Author Spotlight, or authors many contact her. There is ONE author Spotlight per issue, unless there is a case of a writing duo or trio. Your Author Spotlight will be scheduled based on when you put in the request, and the next available issue. (If there is an abundance of interest in the author spotlight, you may be asked if you wish to do an author interview instead, or both). (Author interviews have up to 5 author interviews per issue.)
Author Interviews can be requested by the author, or may be contacted by Amy Shannon direct. Author interviews have up to 5author interviews per issue, but that number can also increase in case of interest. All contributors get a free full page of Advertising Space for one year.
Authors that have had their books recently reviewed by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews, will have their review posted in the next upcoming issue of the magazine. Authors do not have to sign up for this as it will happen automatically.
Authors will be informed about the issue where their review will be posted.
Amy's Pick of the Month: Amy's Bookshelf Reviews has a "pick of the month" that runs monthly and either features a paid or a randomly selected 5 books that were read, reviewed and the review was posted in the prior month. These run on a monthly email campaign, and the ten books of the prior two months are included in the magazine.
Recommended Books:
Children's or YA
True Crime
Nonfiction or Memoir
Poetry
These books are specifically selected by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews to be included in the magazine. These books have the cover image, information about the book, and the book review given by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews.

*There is no compensation for being a contributor except for being a contributor. However, all authors of an article get a byline. The author of the article's name, Business Name, and website. All are italicized at the end of the article. The Title will also say "by ... author name."
If you get an interview, have an author spotlight (usually I ask authors personally to be in the author spotlight or it is part of an author's promotion), or if you're a contributor (writing an article, essay or short story to be included in the magazine), you get a FREE full page AD for one year (starts in the issue you contributed), and is 6 issues (Literate-Ly Magazine is bi-monthly). (Jan-Feb, Mar-April, May-June, July-Aug, Sept-Oct, Nov-Dec).
If you're a contributor, I can only offer you a byline and an AD space. If someone wants to purchase an AD space, it's $25 per year for full page, $15 for half page. Any Ad for a given author, can be changed if they decide to promote another book. The AD space that they have is theirs until it expires. If an author contributes two or more times, then the AD is theirs for the lifetime of the magazine.
I am adding a new section to the magazine, starting in the September-October Issue, called Poetry Corner. This is connected to the Amy's Bookshelf Reviews Podcast, which starts its poetry corner this month (August), and every third Sunday, will be the poetry corner. If an author wants the magazine to print any of their poetry in the magazine, there will be a small fee of $10 per three poems. If you're interested, just send me an email.
This page will have some writing tips, or an "if I knew then, what I know now about ..." (writing, publishing, etc) section.
Authors can contribute by filling out the form below and selecting "Writing Tip" and the author will receive a response to get the information about the tip or "if I knew then, what I know now about ..." segment. Repeat tips will not be posted. Authors will be informed if their tip is selected and what issue that will be released in.
This section will featured a read and reviewed banned book (by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews) , and its information.
This section will be for other reviewers that wish to contribute to the magazine. Contributions are free. If the reviewer wants an advertisement about their blog, if they contribute, they can get a half page of advertising for free. The magazine will accept up to 6 reviews per contributor, per issue, so send your best recommendations.
The section will feature an article written by Amy Shannon or a contributing author. It may also feature some information that is important to literary professionals.
Writing 101
The section will share knowledge and information about writing in general, teach writers something the didn't know, or share experiences with character or plot development. (Contributors also welcome).
Writing Challenges
Sometimes the magazine will have an issue with a writing challenge, and then ask the writer to share their challenge with the magazine, and it will be published.
